How to Plan the Perfect Wedding

So you’re ready to seal the deal and want to kickstart the planning of your big day! This can be an overwhelming process as there are a lot of different aspects to consider especially during the pandemic. So where to start?

From choosing the venue, to deciding on the table decorations, we understand that there are a lot of fine details when it comes to planning a wedding. With all the tasks that come with planning your big day, finding the right place to start can be a struggle. So we have come up with a list of five essential steps to help you plan your perfect wedding!

  1. Set Your Budget

We all dream about our perfect wedding and what it looks like for us, but what we don’t tend to consider when our minds are running away with us is the budget. Now, this is the first and most important step as weddings are expensive and can be stressful therefore you do not want any added stress like running out of money!

Once you have planned your budget you can then take the next stages whilst always referring back to your budget as it’s there for a reason. You want the build up to your wedding day to have as little stress as possible therefore sticking to a budget you have planned will ease your mind for the big day!

2. Plan and Price

Now you have your budget sorted out you can now start to list all the key features you desire to have on your big day. Create a spreadsheet whereby you list all the features you would like to include and then list the prices you have been quoted alongside.

This is the perfect way to organise your dream wedding and keep updated with your costs. You’ll be able to track what it is you want to include and whether you can afford to include it within your budget. You’ll be able to refer back to your spreadsheet, almost like a to-do list and tick off whatever dreams and desires you have as you go along, making the process a lot more organised.

3.Make a Covid Friendly Guest List

Due to the current pandemic, weddings are sadly not as thriving as they once were considering the guest restrictions. However now restrictions are easing, guest lists of up to 30 people are allowed and this rule will stay in place up until June 21st whereby hopefully all restrictions will be eased.

So how do you narrow your guest list down to 30? Well take both yours and your partners closest family members and friends and then cut them down to a list of 30. This can be a  hard process as ideally you would just be able to invite everyone but times are hard and your friends and family will understand.

If you are planning on having your wedding after all restrictions are lifted then by all means invite as many people as you can afford to have. When planning a large guestlist the two main things you need to consider is the capacity of the venue you have chosen and your budget. Consider your catering options as you need to be able to afford to feed your guests. Once you have the number of guests you can afford to invite, start on your invitations!

4.Book Book Book

Now you have fully planned out your venue, guest list, catering options and wedding party, it’s time to put a date into the diary!

Find your perfect date for your wedding, choose a season that you and your partner feel is best suited for the two of you and start calling the venues. Ideally you will book your venue at least 9-12 months in advance to ensure you have the perfect date secured.

Remember that all the extras you want at the wedding will need to be free for this date, therefore, the earlier you book the more time you have to plan the fine details.

5.Enjoy Yourself

This day is supposed to be the happiest day of life so don’t let all the planning overwhelm you.

Once you have made a clear checklist of what needs to be booked, as you start ticking off the list the process should get more and more exciting. Remember this day is supposed to be about love so keep that in mind whenever you do feel a little overwhelmed.

Keep an open mind when planning your wedding, with the help of this guide alongside your own research, your process should be a lot less overwhelming. This day will change the rest of your life so you want to make sure it’s perfect for you. Plan your process and have the best wedding day of your life!
