What are the pros and cons of each wedding season? Whether it is spring, summer, autumn or winter each of the season has it owns benefits and negatives when it comes to having your wedding day. This includes the unpredictable weather, the beautiful scenery and the possibility of guests not attending.

A Spring Wedding
Pros:

2) Spring is the safest season for any bride and groom that are looking to host a large wedding. Due to the time of the year, it is likely that your friends and family are not jet-setting to foreign destinations as no major holidays take place during its months.
3) The lighting in spring is ideal for capturing the perfect photos throughout your wedding day. As well as bringing nature back into our lives, spring also brings some clouds. The slight cloud coverage helps reduce some of the suns natural light meaning your photos will be something you cherish for ever.
Cons:
1) Yep, we are going to have to talk to you about the Great British weather. Unfortunately, the months throughout spring are unpredictable at best. If you are looking for controlled and dependable environment in terms of the weather forecast, spring may not be for you.
2) Spring is prime time throughout the British year for allergy flare-ups. If you or your partner suffer from hay fever or similar issues you run the risk of being uncomfortable and irritated on your wedding day. If you do not think your nose, eyes and ears are up to it, maybe choose another season.
3) It is expensive! Because of the favourable timing and weather conditions spring is thought of as “peak wedding season”. This means that venues and vendors are in demand and evidentially the prices of your wedding will be higher than other seasons.
A Summer Wedding
Pros:
1) A glorious summer day is hard to beat. It is lighter for longer than any other season and the weather is usually unmatched. By choosing a summer wedding you are near enough guaranteed some of the best days in the UK year.
2) The hotter weather is perfect for the bride and groom that want to continue their celebrations late into the night whilst remain outside. Creating a firepit or a focal point in your venue is perfect for keeping your guests happy.
3) If you are particularly fussy about what flowers will have to be at your wedding, Summer is perfect for you. Summer is the season that will have all floral arrangements available. This makes it easy to create stunning centrepieces and a colour scheme that wows.
Cons:
1) Depending on the weather, you sometimes run the risk of picking a day that is too hot. If the sun is blaring and there is no breeze you may sweat off your makeup or ruin your hair. Unfortunately, the glorious British summer day may have backfired. To combat this, make sure you have plenty of shade at the venue.
2) Summer is peak holiday season for families throughout the UK. Because of the hot weather in Europe and the six-weeks holidays you run the risk of a slightly smaller attendance than other months. If you are inviting fringe guests, there is a chance that they will choose to go on a holiday over attending your weather.
3) The sunshine that is ever present throughout summer makes your photographers job harder than it already is. The sunlight can make photos from your ceremony, and reception a lower quality than you would expect. If looking back on stunning photos is a big must for you, another month may be a better choice.
An Autumn Wedding
Pros:
1) Autumn is a season like no other. The falling leaves and changing of temperatures create an amazing combination of colours including bronze, orange, deep purple, reds, and green. This natural colour scheme allows you to create different atmosphere throughout your venue and potential saves you time perfecting your décor.
2) Although the temperature is cooling in autumn a well-timed wedding can still offer its bride and groom a beautiful day. The combination of outdoors and indoors is a potential and a small jacket is usually OK for a little later in the evening.
3) Weddings are not cheap and finding avenues to cut costs down on the budget may be huge for a couple. An autumn wedding allow you to spend less money on decorating your venue and surroundings. The simple backdrop of nature is enough to wow your guests at certain venues.
Cons:
1) Autumn weddings are difficult financially for some couples. Summer tends to be the most active and enjoyed months of the year, which for many means that they do not have a lot of fund to play around with in the following months. IF you are at an expensive venue or far away from your home, consider that not all guests will be able to afford attending.
2) If you struggle to keep your skin clear and looking flawless, the changing of the weather and temperature in Autumn may cause havoc. The colder days and increase in wind and rain may mean that you have a break-out or flaky skin. If this sounds like you try and perfect a skin care routine the year before.
3) Autumn is a strange time of the year. Often people struggle to get holiday approved from work due to the fact many families take an extended break in the months leading up to autumn. If you are having a wedding mid-week it may be important to consider that some of your guests may not be able to attend.
A Winter Wedding
Pros:
1) Winter is a food lovers dream. The colder winter days allows for a varied and inclusive catering selection. Couples can choose from rich dessert tables, hot cocoa bars, and copious amounts of comfort food. Your guests will not be leaving hungry or unsatisfied.
2) Winter weddings are perfect for couples that love the cold. Although we are not always lucky enough to get snow in the UK, our winter evenings certainly do have a feel like no other. By finding the right venue you can create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere to contrast the cold of the night.
3) If you are working on a budget and looking to save some money, winter tends to be a slower time of the year for weddings. This means that venues and vendors are more readily available and at a cheaper price.
Cons:
1) Depending on when you pick to host your wedding, you are running the risk of once again missing out on guests attending your wedding. In the winter months you have some major holidays to compete with including Christmas and New Year’s Eve. If your guests have planned a festive get away, they will be sending you a gift in the post instead of gracing you with their presence.
2) Winter days are the shortest and usually the worse when it comes to weather. This means a winter wedding is very limiting in the options it allows its bride and groom. Predominantly winter wedding take place inside a venue meaning timings throughout the day and the end time of the party may be strict.
3) If you feel the cold easily, a winter wedding probably is not for you. Even though a wedding dress has multiple layers, the chances of it keeping you warm all day are very slim. This means you will often need a second piece that put onto of your dress. This changes your whole look and feel of your wedding outfit.
