Things that every bride should know

Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life, marking the beginning of your married life.

Most women pay special attention to this day as it is one that they will back to forever.

But make no mistake, as simple as it may sound, being a bride is most definitely not a walk in the park. There are many situations to be handled and brides tend to be under a lot of pressure. However, there are a number of things that every bride should keep in mind in order for their special day to be indeed a great memory.

#1 Rule

The number one rule is that …well, there are no rules when it comes to your wedding day. You have one day as a bride and you can do things however you please. The general idea is that all weddings must follow a certain format and that the bride and groom must behave in a certain way.  But nowadays, it is very important for you to realize that diversity is more than welcome and that not every wedding should be the same and no two brides have to be alike. It goes without saying that a wedding is meant to be enjoys and bring people together, so as long as you have that as a priority everything will flow perfectly.

Perfection is definitely overrated

The idea of perfection has always gotten its own share of attention from almost every bride ever. Yet, aiming for a perfect wedding it’s not always the best idea anyone can come up with as it is one that has all the potential to fail. Therefore, instead of setting unrealistic standards that will end up ruining your expectations and turning your wedding day into a stressful event, the better alternative would be setting reachable, accurate and realistic goals. This way, you can even be surprised by how smoothly everything will go and you will spare yourself a lot of unnecessary worry.

Getting Cold feet is normal

When going through big changes, there is a lot of uncertainty going around. That does not mean that you have to panic and cancel everything. Keep calm and think things through. As a bride, you might get cold feet about anything, that’s why it is important for you to try and think clearly, avoid stressful situations that can trigger your anxiety about the wedding day, and try to rationalize through. As normal as getting cold feet is, make sure that you leave no important decisions for the last second and you’re all set. Being prepared is key.

Follow your mind and heart

Everyone will have a piece of advice for you as bride. Friends, family…even random strangers sometimes. Should you listen to it? Yes, of course. It’s helpful to get different perspectives and learn from others. However, it’s your wedding. You should not forget that. You should follow your intuition and believe that deep down you have all the answers that you need. Weddings are a very special event and you do not want to waste a second of it trying to please everyone else. As long as you like something and want to see it on your wedding, go for it and enjoy every second of it.
